വിഴിഞ്ഞം (തിരുവനന്തപുരം): വള്ളം നങ്കൂരമിട്ടശേഷം കരയിലേക്ക് നീന്തിവന്ന രണ്ട് തൊഴിലാളികളിൽ ഒരാൾ മുങ്ങിമരിച്ചു. തമിഴ്നാട് കന്യാകുമാരി മണ്ടയ്ക്കാട് പുതൂരിൽ സഹായരാജുവിന്റെയും ചന്ദിരകലയുടെയും മകൻ പ്രകാശ് ലിബിൻ ആണ് വിഴിഞ്ഞം ഹാർബറിൽ മരിച്ചത്.

ഒപ്പം നീന്തിയിരുന്ന മറ്റൊരു തൊഴിലാളിയായ ലിതിൻ കരയിലെത്തിയിരുന്നു. വെള്ളിയാഴ്ച രാത്രി എട്ടോടെയായിരുന്നു അപകടം. പുതൂരിൽ നിന്നെത്തിയ 14 തൊഴിലാളികളാണ് വിഴിഞ്ഞം തീരത്തു നിന്ന് വെള്ളിയാഴ്ച പുലർച്ചെ നാലോടെ രണ്ട് വള്ളങ്ങളിലായി മീൻപിടിത്തിനു പോയത്.

ലെഡിസ്റ്റൺ എന്നയാളുടെ വള്ളത്തിലാണ് പ്രകാശ് ലിബിൻ ഉൾപ്പെട്ട ഏഴുപേർ പുറപ്പെട്ടത്. മീൻപിടിത്തത്തിനുശേഷം തിരികെ രാത്രി 7.30-ഓടെ പ്രകാശ് ലിബിനും സംഘവും വിഴിഞ്ഞം ഹാർബറിലെത്തിയിരുന്നു.

വള്ളത്തിലുണ്ടായിരുന്ന അഞ്ചുപേരെ കരയിലെത്തിച്ചിരുന്നു. തുടർന്ന് ഹാർബറിൽ വള്ളം നങ്കൂരമിട്ടശേഷം കരയിലേക്ക് നീന്തി വരുമ്പോഴായിരുന്നു അപകടം. നീന്തുന്നതിനിടയിൽ അവശനിലയിലായ പ്രകാശ് ലിബിൻ കടലിൽ താഴ്ന്നുപോയിരിക്കാമെന്നാണ് പോലീസിന്റെ നിഗമനം.
